About Us

Jackson County Parks + Rec utilizes the United States Sports Specialty Association (U.S.S.S.A.) to govern the rules of play. A rulebook (U.S.S.S.A.) is available on-line at www.USSSA.com. All teams must use optic yellow softballs stamped with the U.S.S.S.A. logo and teams will hit their own softballs. Coed leagues will use both the 11 inch, Classic W and 12-inch Classic M balls for play. Men's Leagues will use either the 12" Class M or Classic Plus Ball.  U.S.S.S.A. umpires will officiate all games utilizing the 1-man system.

Schedules + Information

All team managers or designated team representatives are required to provide a valid email address to receive all pertinent information, including team schedules and roster forms, from the League Administrator before the start of the softball session.

If a team manager or team representative does not receive the schedule and roster by Tuesday, March 5, please call the League Administrator at 816-503-4878 to arrange for your schedule to be emailed. All teams are responsible for submitting a team roster prior to the start of league play.

U.S.S.S.A. Information

All teams playing in any Jackson County Parks + Rec Softball League or Tournament are required to be United States Specialty Sports Association-sanctioned. An annual fee of $20 per year is required to receive sanctioning; however, a team playing in more than 1 season may need to repay the fee if (a) the team changes any part of the team name, or (b) the team changes managers.
