Jackson County Parks + Rec offers a variety of venues for your special day.  From unique spaces to nature sites, lakeside views to a view of the past, we have what you need to make your wedding day special.  

Kemper Outdoor Education Center

Nestled in the Fleming Park Nature Preserve on the east side of Lake Jacomo, the Kemper Outdoor Education Center is a stunning wedding venue.  Ceremonies are available on the bridge overlooking our water garden or in front of the butterfly garden.  Make use of the nature trails, pond, barn, grounds and architectural features on 40 picturesque acres for memorable photos.

Rental Services & Fees

  • $700 for first four hours; $100 for each additional hour; 50% deposit required to hold and confirm your date

Included in the rental fee:

  • Wedding space, shelter house and post-ceremony gathering space
  • Designated staff person
  • Staging area in main house for bridal party
  • Two port-a-potties

Not included:

  • Rental for rehearsal (available upon request; $100 fee)
  • Decor and specialty items
  • Arranging chairs
  • Musicians, food or beverage
  • Tables, chairs, linens
  • Tenting
  • Additional port-a-potties
  • Permits are required for photography, tents, catering and special apparatus (optional). 

Photography Permit, $50/first hour + $25/each additional hour;  Video Permit, $75/first hour + $25/additional hour; Catering Permit, $50; Special Apparatus Permit (tents and other needs), $50

Missouri Town Living History Museum

Enjoy the ambiance of a rustic setting as you invite guests to step back in time in our historic village.  Located in Fleming Park, Missouri Town Living History Museum offers gorgeous photo settings featuring historic architecture and unique indoor and outdoor gathering spaces. 

Nestled in the trees on a hill overlooking Missouri Town is the Abijah Withers, or Squire’s House.  This historical home offers old-fashioned charm as a backdrop for your wedding.  Views of the neighboring pasture and forest provide wonderful scenes for photography and video of your special day. (The Flintlock Church is not available at this time.

Availability:

Weddings may be scheduled year-round.  Due to lack of outdoor lighting, we require all participants and guests to vacate the site before dusk. 

Site Rental:

Fort Osage National Historic Landmark

Sitting high atop the bluffs overlooking the Missouri River in Sibley, Missouri, Fort Osage National Historic Landmark offers a unique and scenic location for your wedding.  Fort Osage was rebuilt on the exact location of the original 1808 military outpost and trade center. Visited by Lewis and Clark, Native Americans, fur traders, and those traveling along the Santa Fe Trail, Fort Osage is truly an area steeped in history.

Fleming Meeting Hall

Fleming Meeting Hall is a multi-use facility is located in Fleming Park on Woods Chapel Road and is available for year-round rental. The large meeting area (capacity of 75 people) with full utility kitchen and backyard area with picnic tables and grill, make this hall perfect for organizational meetings and family gatherings.

Rental Fees

9am-3pm:   $200

5pm-10pm: $200

All day:        $275

Holidays:     $300
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve

Note: A $150 refundable cleaning/damage deposit is required upon application. Facility is available for rental from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. An additional $150 deposit is required for any events in which alcoholic beverages will be served.
