Weddings may be booked at Missouri Town 1855 from mid-April through mid-October. Weddings are scheduled in the evenings after the site is closed to the public. Rental hours for a wedding service are from 4:30 p.m. - dusk.
The Missouri Town 1855 church is a hewn-log structure, built in 1855 in the shape of a cross. Typical of a historic structure, there is no electrical lighting, heating or air conditioning. A wood stove, located in the center of the church, provides a heating source. Lighting is by candles placed in wall sconces throughout the church.
Services + Fees
The fee for renting the Missouri Town 1855 church for your wedding service is $300. A deposit for 50% of this amount is required upon booking of your wedding date. The remaining portion is due 30 days prior to your wedding date. You may also choose from the following optional services:
Church Rental for Rehearsal
Missouri Town 1855 is open Tuesday - Sunday, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. A rehearsal may be scheduled after 5 p.m., Tuesday - Sunday for the same fee.
Outdoor Reception Near the Church
If you wish to have an outdoor reception after your wedding service, we will provide up to three tables with linen tablecloths and a punch bowl. You will need to provide your cake, punch and serving utensils.
Church Decorating Service
Silk flowers, greenery and ivory ribbon are used for church decorations. The decorating service will include decorated pews, door trim, decorated walkway leading to the door, and candles for the wall sconces. If you elect to provide your own decorations, you may arrive at the church after 4:30 p.m. to begin decorating. As the church is an historic structure, we ask that you not use push pins, nails, tacks or glue on any surfaces.
